Job Description
· Operating and driving trucks with three axles to transport goods and materials as required.
· Safely loading, handling, and transporting goods and heavy cargo.
· Recording materials picked up and delivered, maintaining trip logs, and updating routes, mileage, and breaks daily.
· Reporting accidents, delays, or mechanical issues to supervisors promptly.
· Ensuring vehicles are inspected, maintained, and repaired to meet safety and legal standards.
· Complying with all traffic laws, transportation procedures, and company policies.
· Verifying inventory loads against shipping documents.
· Performing emergency repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
· Reading maps and following written and verbal geographic directions.

Responsibilities
Tasks
· Address customers' complaints or concerns
· Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
· Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
· Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
· Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
· Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
· Pay and receive payments for goods
· Perform brake adjustments
· Perform emergency roadside repairs
· Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
· Perform preventive maintenance
· Receive and relay information to central dispatch
· Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
· Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
· Transport and handle dangerous goods
