We are looking for a well-experienced Pastry Chef for Cleese Catering located at 11 Carlaw Ave, Toronto, ON M4M 2R6 Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, including guidance on pastry preparation, plating techniques, and kitchen best practices.
Implement and oversee a first-in, first-out (FIFO) rotation system to ensure freshness and minimize food spoilage; ensure all pastry ingredients are properly labeled and stored.
Maintain a well-stocked pastry station, particularly during peak service hours, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new pastry team members, ensuring alignment with kitchen and restaurant standards.
Manage inventory, track product usage, and place orders as needed; monitor food costs and implement strategies to reduce waste and control budget.
Supervise the preparation and presentation of all pastry items to uphold the restaurant’s quality standards and brand consistency.
Ensure that all pastry storage units meet food safety and sanitation regulations and are consistently organized and maintained.
Consult with customers regarding custom orders for catering and special events, offering expert recommendations and solutions.
Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of a standardized recipe book for all pastry items to ensure consistency and quality across the team.
Prerequisites:
Education: high school or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $ 36.00 to $ 38.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
