Responsibilities
Tasks
• Assign IT projects to systems analysts, programmers and other computer technicians
• Coordinate IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
• Direct and control daily operations
• Evaluate daily operations
• Plan and control budget and expenditures
• Plan and organize daily operations
• Recruit staff
• Review operational reports to assess compliance with software and hardware requirements
• Supervise computer analysts, engineers, programmers, technicians and other personnel
• Supervise staff
• Train staff
• Establish and implement policies and procedures for information systems
• Authorize the development of specifications for products or services
• Meet with clients to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
• Manage incidents
• Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
• Administer policies and procedures related to the release of records in processing requests under government access to information and privacy legislation
• Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures
• Delegate work to office support staff
• Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence
• Implement new administrative procedures
• Co-ordinate and plan for office services such as accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance and security services
• Carry out administrative activities of establishment
• Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met
• Assist in the preparation of operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls
• Review and evaluate new administrative procedures
