Work Location: Based in Barrie, ON with regular travel to customer locations throughout Simcoe County
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties on residential/industrial & commercial properties:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
• Install, examine, test, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in buildings and other structures.
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components.
• Install and maintain power generation, lighting, and control systems, including switchgear and transformers.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and workplace safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members while working on-site.
Requirements
• Completion of a post-secondary trade diploma in Electrical Techniques or a related field.
• Valid 309A Electrician – Construction and Maintenance License (Ontario) is a mandatory requirement.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installations and maintenance.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License or equivalent; ability to travel to client sites as needed.
• Proof of training in:
o Working at Heights
o WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
o Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Strong understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
• Ability to read technical documents and blueprints, and work independently or as part of a team.
Working Conditions
• Travel to various customer locations throughout Simcoe County.
• Work may involve indoor and outdoor environments, occasional confined spaces, and exposure to heights.
• Overtime may be required based on project demands and emergency service calls.
