Job Description
Permanent Full-time
40 hours per week
Wage: $37.00-40.00/hour
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test strategies, test plans, and test cases for software applications and systems.
Design, implement, and maintain test procedures and automation scripts for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Conduct manual and automated software testing to identify, document, and report defects, inconsistencies, and performance issues.
Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and work closely with development teams to resolve defects and validate fixes.
Create and maintain testing-related documentation, including bug reports, testing metrics, test coverage, and traceability matrices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product management, DevOps, etc.) to understand system requirements and ensure testing is aligned with project goals.
Ensure all testing activities comply with internal quality standards, security policies, and industry best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
Participate in project planning meetings and provide input on test estimation, risk assessment, and release readiness.
Qualifications and Experience
Completion of a college diploma or university degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance or testing roles, preferably in an Agile or DevOps environment.
Proficiency in manual testing and familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JUnit, etc.) is an asset.
Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
Technical knowledge of JavaScript, Python, or other programming/scripting languages is a strong asset.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills in English (both verbal and written), with the ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
