Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Supply Chain, Procurement and Production to oversee our procurement and production operations, specifically focusing on international imports. This role will involve managing the entire supply chain process, ensuring smooth coordination between teams, and supporting business growth.
Duties:
• Production Planning and Monitoring: Developing and overseeing the production timeline, coordinating between different departments to ensure that products are manufactured on time and within budget. Monitoring production progress and solving issues that arise during the production process to meet deadlines.
• Coordinating and managing various departments to ensure that work is being completed efficiently and within the required time frames
• GSD (General Sewing Data) Concepts and Methodologies: Enabling staff to apply GSD techniques in their daily operations to improve overall productivity and reduce waste
• Establishing purchasing policies for the company and ensuring that they are being implemented within the daily operations of our business and working with staff members to develop new programs as needed
• Reviewing and establishing financial/administrative controls and purchasing department budget
• Working in a leadership role to delegate tasks and responsibilities to middle managers and other staff as required
• Monitoring the production process, participating in the development of specifications for products, and solving issues that may arise during the production process to meet deadlines
• Vendor Management: Managing relationships with fabric, trim, accessory, and packaging vendors and monitoring their performance, quality, and pricing.
• Identifying and coordinating relations with international vendors; reviewing/processing claims made against suppliers, maintaining relationships with factories to ensure timely sourcing of raw materials, negotiating pricing and purchasing contracts (FOB, CMT, LDP) with vendors overseas and securing cost-effective deals
• Compliance Oversight: Collaborating with our Compliance and QA team to implement product specifications and meet social, ethical, environmental, and technical compliance requirements
• Supply Chain Optimization: Overseeing and coordinating the entire supply chain process, from raw material procurement to the shipment of finished goods
• Ensuring seamless collaboration between the procurement, sourcing, production, and logistics teams to meet customer delivery deadlines efficiently
• Cost Management: Developing and maintaining cost sheets for President’s approval
• Sourcing Strategy: Cultivating new supplier relationships and seeking out new supply sources to be presented to the Board of Directors
• Visiting production facilities for in person meetings /dialogue from time to time and working out a better lead time process to optimize results
Requirements:
• A University degree in business administration, finance, economics or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree is an asset.
• 5+ years of experience in the textile industry is required.
• 5 + years of experience as a purchasing agent or officer is required, specifically, managing textile supply chains (procurement, sourcing and production) for the garment industry.
• Familiarity with the General Sewing Data system for analyzing sewing methods and setting standards in the garment industry & experience using it to estimate production costs, optimize efficiency, and balance assembly lines.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to communicate in Bangla and in Urdu/Hindi is highly desirable.
