Automotive Service Technician (NOC 72410)

Position type: Full-time, permanent | 40h/week
Wage: $35 per hour
Minimum requirements:
Education: Secondary-school completion.
Training/experience:
Training courses or vocational program or previous experience is preferable
Language: Functional English – (reading work orders, communicating with clients).
Key duties:
Review work orders; discuss findings with the shop-foreman.
Road-test vehicles; use computerized scanners to diagnose mechanical, electrical & electronic faults.
Adjust, repair or replace components of engines, drive-trains, brakes, steering, suspension, fuel & emission systems.
Perform scheduled maintenance (oil, lube, tune-ups) and software updates.
Test-drive and verify repairs meet manufacturer specifications; complete work-order reports and advise customers on future service.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Busy, high-traffic shop environment with tight deadlines
Physically demanding: standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, lifting heavy parts (up to 50 lbs)
Exposure to grease, oil, exhaust fumes, and noise; must follow safety guidelines
Essential Skills:
Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving
Reading and interpreting work orders, diagrams, and manuals
Communication skills to interact with customers and team
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Other Information:
Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada
