Job duties include:
Cut, trim, bone, and prepare a variety of meats, poultry, fish, and shellfish for customer orders or self-serve displays.
Organize and arrange meats for special presentations or deliveries.
Shape, tie, and lace roasts and other meat products; may package fresh, frozen, or prepared items.
Oversee inventory management, track sales, and ensure product freshness based on company and customer needs.
Follow food safety protocols, including HACCP guidelines and CFIA standards, to maintain high-quality standards.
Ensure proper food storage conditions are met to maintain freshness and safety.
May supervise, train, or direct the work of other butchers, meat cutters, or fishmongers.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged standing during work.
Manual handling of materials and products.
Repetitive motions involved in cutting and preparing meats.
Bending or twisting the body regularly.
Walking and running
Must be proficient in verbal and written English.
