Required Qualifications:
• Successful completion of a Phlebotomy Technician course
Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate of Medical Science/Technology Program or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician (Assistant)
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

• Perform laboratory tasks under the supervision of a qualified technologist, including blood sample collection, specimen preparation, and routine testing procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare chemical reagents, and ensure proper quality control documentation.
• Process and prepare specimens for referral to external laboratories, ensuring timely documentation and communication of results.
• Assist in routine laboratory maintenance, including equipment upkeep, temperature monitoring, and stocking supplies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
• Extensive computer competency in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organizational, time management and record-keeping skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to deal with public/patients on specimen collection
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Assets:
• Bilingual
• Excellent attendance record (records will be reviewed)
• Experience in Meditech software application(s)
• Experience in Phlebotomy
• Experience in Electrography
