We are currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the team. The candidate should exhibit sound knowledge of laboratory procedures and demonstrable experience in a medical laboratory environment. Top-notch candidates keep up with advancements in the field of medical laboratory sciences and possess excellent analytical abilities.
Job Duties:
1.Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and analyzers, ensuring that the equipment is calibrated and maintained to ensure accurate results.
2.Develop procedures that outline the steps required to perform the tests or experiments, including any equipment or reagents needed and validate the procedures by comparing the results to known standards and controls.
3.Prepare biological samples for testing, including tissue, blood, urine, spinal fluid, and gastric juices, and determine normal and abnormal components by conducting chemical analysis.
4.Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests.
5.Maintain laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and ensure that adequate supplies and reagents are available to perform the testing required.
6.Properly and safely dispose of hazardous and infectious waste and materials.
7.Perform and monitor quality control in all areas of testing areas following established policies and procedures.
8.Record results of tests and maintain records, provide test results and report deviations from the norm to the supervisor.
9.Stay up-to-date with industry developments, including new laboratory testing technologies, emerging diseases, and changes in regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
1.At least a college diploma with a focus on Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required for this position.
2.Minimum of 1 to 2 years of medical technologist experience.
3.Ability to use complex medical equipment.
4.Detail-oriented.
5.In-depth knowledge of medical laboratory equipment, techniques, tests, and procedures.
6.Advanced knowledge in preparing and analyzing biological samples.
7.Possess excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
