Job Duties
- Plan menus and ensure the quality of food
- Estimate the required amount and costs for food items and supplies
- Oversee and document food costs, usage, sales, and inventory management
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation staff
- Guide cooks in the preparation, cooking techniques, plating, and food presentation
- Train staff to prepare and cook all the menu items
- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
