School District No. 35 (Langley) is looking for a talented Community Coordinator Early Years Programming to help lead that team to work collaboratively to maintain a healthy, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the District Principal of Early Learning, the Community Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising the Early Years programs. This role will work closely with the District Principal and the District Teacher Coordinator of Early Learning to ensure the District's Early Years programming follows all Ministry legislation. The Early Years Coordinator will be responsible for the District's childcare licensing requirements, supervision of facilitators, and will liaise with community partner groups to ensure the optimal running of Early Years program's operations. Key responsibilities include:

Support successful recruitment & retention processes for Early Years staffing.

Supervise the daily operations of Early Years programming throughout the District.

Coordinates the District's childcare licensing requirements, ensuring adherence to all Ministry legislation.

Stay up to date with services, facilities, and community resources to best support students, staff and families.

Supervise, Schedule, Support and Collaborate with Early Years program staff.

Work with community stakeholders and district staff to develop and provide programming and support for Early Learners and their caregivers.

Work with Licensing Officers to ensure Legislation is followed in licensed programs.

Work with District staff to manage registrations, payment, and student records for licensed and unlicensed programs.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:

Certificate in Early Learning / Early Childhood Education.

Minimum five years' experience in development, management, and support of licensed Early Years programming.

Experience leading projects, teams, or individuals on related initiatives, committees, or procedures.

Experience with completion of childcare licensing, in alignment with Ministry Childcare Funding tools and guidelines.

Possess valid First Aid certification.

Possess qualifications and experience and knowledge of community education and programming.

Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.

Possess strong computer skills, primarily with the full Microsoft Office 365 suite.

Ability to assess resources and needs of Early Years Programs.

Ability to work independently and take initiative in the development of new programs and opportunities.

Participate in ongoing professional learning.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both site and district staff, families, community partners, agencies, businesses, and service professionals.

Knowledge and understanding of District Guiding Documents including the FESL, Strategic Plan and Early Learning Framework.

Understanding of the First Peoples Principles of Learning and how to embed them in programming.

Possession of a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle, as travel to different sites within the District will be necessary.
