Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Cold/refrigerated. Confined spaces. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Dirty. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Determine weldability of materials. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Type of materials: Aluminum alloys. Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Gas welding machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Structural construction. Fencing, balconies, stairs and railings. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Willing to travel regularly. Valid driver's licence.
