Job Requirements
- Completion of secondary school
- Completion of cooking program or two or more years of commercial cook experience
- Experience in Chinese cuisine is an asset
- Extra experience is an asset
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to pre-set menu
- Based on orders received, prepare, handle, clean, cut, marinate, and cook the right quantity of foods
- Ensure recipes, ingredient specifications, quantity, quality, and cooking times are followed
- Assist with menu development and tasting new dishes
- Package cooked foods for take-out
- Ensure that food is properly stored and handled at all times
- Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
- Oversee kitchen operations
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work area
- Estimate food requirements, costs, monitor and order supplies
