Education: Bachelor's degree. Law (LLB, JD, BCL). Tasks: Advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law. Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law. Perform management functions related to the practice of law. Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion. Offer mediation, conciliation and arbitration services. Supervise professional, para-legal and support staff and articling students. Research legal precedents and gather evidence. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Membership in the Canadian Bar Association. Membership in a provincial or territorial law society.
