Title: Systems Testing Technician
Salary: $38.5 an hour
Job type: full-time (35 hours)
Responsibilities:
• Create comprehensive testing plans outlining the scope, objectives, and methodologies for testing software applications, information systems, and telecommunication systems.
• Install required software and hardware components and configure operating system software to ensure the system is set up correctly for testing purposes.
• Execute various tests according to the established testing plans, including functional, performance, regression, and integration tests. Analyze the results obtained from these tests meticulously to identify any deviations or anomalies.
• Document the results of tests performed, including any defects or issues encountered during testing. This documentation should be detailed and include steps to reproduce any identified defects.
• Develop and implement testing policies, procedures, and scripts to streamline the testing process and ensure consistency and accuracy across testing activities.
• Identify and report any defects or inconsistencies discovered during testing promptly. Utilize defect tracking tools to accurately record and track the status of reported defects throughout the defect resolution process.
• Propose feasible solutions or workarounds to address identified defects or issues, collaborating with relevant stakeholders such as developers, engineers, and project managers to ensure timely resolution.
• Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability of testing activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, quality assurance engineers, and system architects to ensure alignment and integration of testing activities within the overall development lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate documentation of testing procedures, test cases, test results, and other relevant artifacts to facilitate knowledge transfer and future reference.
Employment requirements:
• Completion of a college program in computer science or related field is usually required, a university degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of working experience in the related fields is required.
