Main duties

• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the overall operations of information systems and electronic data processing.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems development and operations.
• Conduct meetings with management and other departments to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvements of the IT system.
• Build and manage teams of information systems personnel to design, develop, implement, operate, and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks, and information systems.
• Take charge of the budget and expenditures related to IT projects, ensure efficient financial management.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate IT staff to maintain a skilled and motivated team.
• Lead and guide the IT team in designing, developing, implementing, and operating the IT system effectively.
• Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the security and proper functioning of information systems.
• Oversee the management of IT project schedules, budgets, resources, and quality assurance measures.
• Assign, coordinate, and review IT projects and programs to ensure successful execution.
• Collaborate with and direct outsourced software or application development teams/companies when required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role of an IT Manager.

Employment requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, commerce, engineering, science or related field is required.
• Master’s degree is an asset
• 5+ years of management experience in systems analysis, data administration, software engineering, network design or computer programming is required.
