Duties:
Lead Engineer/ Continuous Improvement Planner (70% of the role):
• Maintenance planning and scheduling for the manufacturing line(s).
• Leading technical innovations, modifications, and solutions.
• Kaizen initiatives on top losses.
• Training and educating our current planned Operators/Technicians to a complete understanding of operation and maintenance.
• Leading the new line/equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification.
• 5S implementation on the production floor.
• Developing and improving safety measures online to improve EHS culture and eliminate the risk on the floor.
• FMEA execution.
• Managing a team that will eventually run the equipment with minimal physical input required.
• Creating work instruments for operations and maintenance of machinery.
• Creating OPLs (One-Point-Lessons) for training and troubleshooting.
• Implementation of problem-solving tools.
Head of Production (30% of the role):
• Supervising, co-ordinating and scheduling the activities of workers who package Nicotine, Energy food and beverage products (modern oral nicotine pouches, modern oral tobacco alternatives, modern oral energy pouches, and modern oral nutraceutical pouches);
• Developing and implementing workflows.
• Monitoring employee performance.
• Assigning and supervising specific work tasks.
• Ensuring that processes and procedures comply with the overall organization's guidelines.
• Inspiring and encouraging employees to perform their best.
• Interpreting the strategy of top-level management and translating it into everyday policies.
• Allocating resources within the pouching facility.
• Reporting issues and performance up the chain to top-level management.
• Oversee production runs.
• Ensuring manufacturing to TJP's necessary (additional) Standard Operating Procedures to maintain Drug Establishment License activities in Canada.
• Ensuring all staff operate to TJP's necessary (additional) Standard Operating Procedures to maintain Drug Establishment License activities in Canada.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or in a related engineering discipline is required.
• 2+ years of experience with packaging machinery (eg. G.D Snus Packer / Maker);
• 3+ years of experience in the food or beverage processing industry are required.
• Knowledge of the maintenance and components of packaging equipment/machinery;
• Experience operating packaging equipment/machinery and components;
• Completion, or ability to obtain WHMIS Certification;
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
• Ability to obtain GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001 training
