Title of the Position: Executive Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors, this key leadership role provides vision, guidance, creative problem-solving, and practical support to TBG to ensure effective change and outstanding execution across all areas of the organization. These areas include horticulture, conservation, education, planning and reporting, financial management, marketing and communications, events, retail, rentals, development, operational and risk management, and the expansion project and capital campaign.

The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in promoting a culture of inclusivity and collaboration, as well as actively facilitating a best-practices approach to the sharing of operational knowledge across the organization and beyond. This role requires oversight of an annual operating budget of $2.5-3 Million, and an expansion capital projects budget of $50 Million over three phases.

Job Duties:
- Reporting to the Board of Directors, this key leadership role provides vision, guidance, creative problem-solving, and practical support to TBG to ensure effective change and outstanding execution across all areas of the organization. These areas include horticulture, conservation, education, planning and reporting, financial management, marketing and communications, events, retail, rentals, development, operational and risk management, and the expansion project and capital campaign

- TBG is a community-based organization with over 2000 members, hundreds of active volunteers, and 32 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) staff. This role requires oversight of an annual operating budget of $2.5-3 Million, and an expansion capital projects budget of $50 Million over three phases

Terms of Employment: This is a permanent and full-time position, 37.5 hours of work per week

Skill Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in horticulture or equivalent
• Master’s degree in horticulture desired
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in Public garden, plant conservation, or landscape-based non-profit leadership experience
