Atlantic George Limited is a leading construction company dedicated to providing high quality and reliable construction service for the HRM region. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in estimating construction project costs and ensuring smooth progress of construction projects.
Wage: $30-35/hour
Hours: 35-40hours/week
Term: Full time, Permanent
Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school
• Minimum 3 - 5 years experience as a commercial construction estimator with a general contractor
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and an estimating software platform
• Data sensitive and detailed focused
• Good communication and negotiation skill
• Excellent evaluation, organization and negotiation skills
Responsibilities:
• Estimate the probable cost of materials, equipment and labor for a construction project based on contract bids, quotations, and schematics.
• Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternative.
• Communicate with contractors and suppliers on various estimates towards the construction project. And maintain positive relationship with them.
• Develop and maintain estimating procedures and guidelines.
• Manage and coordinate construction projects and develop construction schedules.
• Train, mentor, and develop skills of future junior estimators.
• Prepare the cost statements and make expense forecast and adjustment accordingly.
