Job Summary Statement:
The Warehouse Supervisor directs and oversees the functions of warehouse personnel and assists in both the administrative and operational responsibilities as and when required. This position also requires the individual to work in a dynamic environment and exercise prompt decision-making and problem solving abilities.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff
• Assigning daily tasks and evaluating the work of the subordinates.
• Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
• Responsible to ensure company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors. Wears personal protective equipment as required at all times. Ensuring the safety of all workers in the warehouse as per Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Informs Warehouse Manager and Transportation team when a truck is late (after 1 hour loading window), delayed or does not show up.
• Inspecting and overseeing the inventory records of the warehouse for accuracy, in combination with keeping track of all inbound and outbound supplies.
• Regularly inspects and ensures the maintenance and safety of all warehouse equipment and machinery.
• Makes inventory and evaluation reports pertaining to the warehouse.
• Participates in quality planning/improvement activities re: stocking of racks
• Cross trained to cover off other warehouse responsibilities as required (ex. In case of absence or coverage required Shipper, picker, receiver, warehouse supervisor etc.)
• Training new staff assigned to your shift
• Performs other duties as required within his abilities as requested by management.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required at all times.
• Other duties as assigned


Health and Safety
• Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
• Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker. Specific accountabilities for safety include, but are not limited to performing regular workplace inspections, conducting/participating in safety talks, staff meetings, actively participating in accident/incident investigations, training new employees, identifying and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, identify, correct or commend health and safety performance and conducting performance appraisals for workers’ safety performance



Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies:
• Effectively lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep employees motivated.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve crisis.
• Strong interpersonal, conciliation skills and the capacity to network with suppliers.
• Knowledge of safety standards (and Industrial Accident Investigation Reporting).
• Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter and a team player.
• Must be computer literate.
• Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius in most Brimich Warehouses. Brimich Cold Storage buildings may range from 0 degrees Celsius to -30 degrees Celsius.



Training Requirements
• Forklift Certification – Counterbalance, Reach and Swing Reach.
• WHMIS
• HACCP
• First Aid & CPR level A with AED
• Emergency Evacuation
• Other Job Specific training as indicated on the Department Training Matrix



Education and Training
• Diploma in supply chain management, general administration from a certified college, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in warehousing facility activities at a Supervisory level.
• Certified Forklift Operator - Counterbalance and Swing Reach.
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of bar coding systems.



Continuous Improvement
• Participate in developing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture in the warehouse
