Responsibilities:
Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
Consult with clients regarding events and functions.
Estimate and maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
Instruct and supervise cooks and other staff.
Train cooks and other staff.
Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
Ensure the proper setup and readiness of each item on the menu.
Maintain product consistency by conducting inspections of seasonings, portion, and
appearance of food.
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods.
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff.
Explain and enforce hygiene regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, functioning and safe workspace.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school.
Completion of post-secondary education or credentials in the culinary field.
Minimum of four years of work experience as a Chef in a kitchen or restaurant setting.
Available to work the day, afternoon, weekend shifts, and overtime if needed.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
