Terms of the Position:
- Terms: Permanent, full-time
- Hours: 44 hours/week
- Wage: $34/hour
- Work Conditions and Benefits:
o Working Conditions:
- Construction sites in various locations (must be willing to travel to job sites within an approximately 45 minute drive from Creemore, Ontario)
- Work sites are outdoors or can be noisy and/or dusty
- Required to work at heights and in confined spaces
o Benefit package after three months of work (dental plan, disability benefits, health care plan, paramedical services coverage, vision care benefits)
o If asked to use your own vehicle to move between jobsites or transport tools/materials etc. during the work day, mileage will be paid at
$0.65/kilometer

- Minimum Education:
o Trades certification or diploma or equivalent experience in carpentry or cabinetmaking
- Minimum Experience Requirements:
o At least four years of experience in rough framing and/or finish carpentry
o Demonstrate proficiency in using various carpentry tools, such as but not limited to saws, drills, and pneumatic nail guns.
o Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to follow all health and safety guidelines.
- Personal and Physical Attributes:
o Possess a valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation
o Demonstrate a motivated and client focused attitude and an ability to work accurately
o Demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, good communication skills, good judgement and problem solving abilities, reliability and punctuality

Job Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Instruct apprentices
- Estimate costs and materials
- Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications
- Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
- Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
- Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
- Utilize woodworking and carpentry tools and machines and tools with precision, including but not limited to table saws, mitre saws, sanding tools, sharpening tools, chisels, and other hand and carpentry tools
- Comply with health and safety standards at all times and keep a clean and safe workspace so as to ensure safety of self, other workers and clients
