Job description
Job title: Sourcing Specialist
Full-time permanent.
Work hours: Monday-Friday, 35 hours/week
Wage: $46/hour
Work Location: Bay E - 4710 17 Ave. SE, Calgary, AB T2A 0V1
Language: English
Vacation: 10 days of paid vacation per annum or remuneration of 4% of gross salary
Core Responsibilities
1. Analyze and evaluate supplier bids, negotiating prices and terms for our diverse product range.
2. Contribute to sourcing activities, driving cost-effective decisions and ensuring optimal inventory levels.
3. Foster strong supplier relationships, supporting quality audits, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
4. Collaborate closely with existing suppliers and establish relationship of new suppliers, manage orders efficiently, and resolve claims promptly.
5. Purchase a variety of Asian goods to meet supermarket demands.
6. Assess establishment contract and negotiate favorable contract terms.
7. Conduct market research and provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
Requirements and skills
A college diploma in business administration, economics, logistics, operations management, finance, engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis or equivalent
At least 1 year experience as a purchasing clerk, a supply chain for sourcing specialist, an administrative clerk or similar role
Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software
Well-organized and detail oriented
Exceptional negotiating, communication and writing skills
Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind
Proficient in English
Fluent in a second language will be an asset
