Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive mechanic or in a similar position of the same level.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with hybrid vehicles, especially in hybrid battery repair and maintenance. This 1-year experience can be included in the 2-year experience requirement.

General Skills and Duties:
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in hybrid vehicles using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures
Repairing or replacing parts and components specific to hybrid vehicles, such as hybrid car batteries and electric motors
Performing maintenance and routine inspections on hybrid vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation
Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components
Repair or replace mechanical units or components
Estimate parts and labour costs
Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
Coach and instruct apprentices on the repair and maintenance of both hybrid and gasoline-powered vehicles.
Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
Perform scheduled maintenance service
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
