Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner provides primary health care services, in collaboration with the physician to the assigned community(ies) and area, which addresses community needs and includes: emergency services, health promotion, health protection, disease and injury prevention, support, teaching, treatment, collaboration and referral to other health care professionals and community needs assessment.
Required Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or required to obtain
Diploma in Nursing with a certificate in an approved Advanced Nursing Practice Program
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) as an RN (NP) or RN (GNP)
Experience
Previous experience in community needs assessment, community development, health promotion and/or northern nursing would be a definite asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must demonstrate empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care for residents
Strong communication skills (written and verbal); Ability to document in a concise and timely manner
Strong public relations and interpersonal skills
Other Information

Valid Saskatchewan Drivers licence with reliable vehicle

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
