Job position: Early childhood educator

Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Wage Range: $22-$25/hour, 30-40 hours per week
Job Location: Burnaby, BC
What you do in the position
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs and curriculums to support and promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, dramatic play or physical activities
• Observe children and assess individual and group needs
• Maintain an environment that protects the health, safety of children
• Guide and assist children on proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Assess children’s abilities and interest and discuss the progress and problems with parents and other staff
• Maintain positive and friendly relationships with families
• Coordinate activities of other early childhood educators or assistant
What you bring
• Post-secondary diploma or above
• Early childhood educator certificate is required
• Experience in childcare is preferred
• Proficiency in English listening and communication
• Reliability, patient, and punctuality
• Attention to details
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral communication
• Valid and clear criminal background check
Certification in these areas is an asset:
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR Certificate
• Food Safe Certification
• Emergency childcare first aid and CPR

We provide all kinds of fun activities to educate, stimulate, and engage the children as we foster their physical and mental growth. We strive to provide the children with upmost sincere care and make their safety our top priority. The Burnaby branch is newly opened, thus we need one ECEA to help us take care of the children in this new branch.
