Job Description
· Inspect the structure of roofs in order to determine the best course of action
· Put shakes, brick, or baked clay roofing tiles on roofs
· Train newly hired employees
· Supervise other roofers
· Use waterproof coatings on brickwork/stonework or concrete surfaces that are above or below ground
· Install and repair metal roofs using hand equipment
· Install vapor barriers and insulation to create a more waterproof seal
· Construct roofing systems using asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt or gravel
· Replace tiles on sloped roofs of buildings/houses
· Provide clients with estimates on labor costs and materials required to fix or build a roof
· Put single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions
· Estimate costs and materials
· Safely set up ladders, scaffolding, and hoisting equipment as required
