We, AF Transport Ltd., are hiring Long Haul Truck Drivers

Salary: $27.50 - $30.00/hourly (depending on experience) for 40-60 hours per week

Job Location

Job Duties
Operate and drive the long-haul tractor-trailers to transport the freight to and from the destination in long haul
Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and check on cargo at every stop during the long haul
Follow all the safety procedure required to transport the goods
Perform pre trip, en-route, and post trip vehicle inspection including the systems, cargo, tires, brake system etc
Maneuver and Navigate the truck in any kind of weather condition and areas
Administer bills and maintain the logbooks manually or computerized
Make records of the cargo, the hours of services, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Respectfully communicate through the communication systems with the other drivers, dispatchers and customers
Plan the trips accordingly and have all the necessary documents required for transportation
Do emergency roadside repairs when necessary
Drive single or as part of 2-person team as per company requirements
Employment Requirements
Completion of Secondary school is desirable, not mandatory.
Class 1 or A Driver’s License and Air brake endorsement are required.
1-2 years’ experience is desirable. However, No experience is necessary. On the job training will be provided to hired candidates.
Proficiency to communicate in basic English.
Must be willing to drive in a team as per the operational requirements, travel across border, for extended periods and overnight.
Ability to communicate with dispatcher and other drivers using two-way radio, cellular phone.
Clean driving record.

Other
As per Alberta Employment standards, 2 weeks of vacation per year or 4% vacation pay of the gross salary
As per Canada labour code for highway drivers, overtime rate of 1.5 times the regular is applicable after 60 hours per week
