We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Database Developer in our growing team at Tech IT Group at our Vancouver, BC office location. Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble and record the user requirements.
• Create database architecture for tasks using information systems.
• Design, build, change, incorporate, put into perform, and test database management systems.
• Conduct analysis and offer guidance to other informatics experts on how to choose, use, and deploy database management systems.
• Operate database management systems to carry out data mining studies and examine data
• May act as the group's leader, coordinator, or supervisor.
• Take the initiative in creating and implementing database best practises and processes, assuring the availability and integrity of databases and the software that goes with them.
• Coordinate requirements collection, analysis, and solution development for Database Administration and migration projects with the Database Developers.
• Conduct research and provide advice to other information systems professionals regarding the collection, availability, security and suitability of data
• Develop policies and procedures for network and/or Internet database access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data
• Lead cloud migration and adoption projects from conception to completion in collaboration with project teams, functional architects, systems experts, other technical resources, and clients.
• Oversee the efficient management of a team of database developers and administrators while fostering their professional advancement.
• Ensure high levels of availability and performance by supervising the setup, upkeep, and performance tracking of SQL servers and databases.

Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
• Possessing coding skills in languages like SQL, PL/SQL.
• Ability to design database objects, such as tables, views, and stored procedures, and knowledge of the ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) method.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of database design
• Knowledge of ideas related to data integrity, normalisation, and indexing.
• Understanding of database optimisation and modelling
• Knowledge of recommended practises for data security.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Education & qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree or college program, in computer science, computer engineering, or mathematics is usually required.
• Computer programming and related experience is usually required.
