Job Description:
As a Housekeeper at a long-term care facility, they will be an essential member of our team, responsible for ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe living environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Their attention to detail and dedication to maintaining cleanliness will directly impact the quality of life and health of our residents.
Duties:
Clean and sanitize resident rooms, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and orderliness.
Maintain cleanliness in common areas, including hallways, lounges, and dining areas.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and showers, to prevent the spread of infection.
Perform laundry duties, including washing, folding, and changing linens.
Monitor and restock cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed.
Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate department promptly.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors, ensuring they are hazard-free and well-maintained.
Dust, polish, and maintain furniture and fixtures throughout the facility.
Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails regularly.
Clean and maintain staff areas, including break rooms and supply closets.
Follow infection control and safety protocols to reduce the spread of illness.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to established procedures.
Attend safety training sessions to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Interact with residents and their families with courtesy and professionalism, addressing any concerns or inquiries.
Collaborate with fellow team members to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulations related to housekeeping duties.
Qualifications:
•Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation techniques, as well as infection control practices.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining cleanliness standards.
•Effective communication and customer service skills.
•Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and carrying linens.
Experience:
No Experience is required; will train.
Working Conditions:
•This position may involve prolonged periods of standing and physical exertion.
•Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure facility cleanliness.
Locations:
The candidate will be working at different locations in British Columbia.
