It is imperative that our team is staffed with the most experienced and well-trained individuals. Each team member at Don Alfonso is incredibly valued for their knowledge, skill, and relevant experience.

At this time, Don Alfonso Toronto is looking to hire a Junior Sous-Chef. The role a Junior Sous-Chef is crucial to the smooth operation of the kitchen. We are looking for an individual who has the ability to lead, strong communication and organizational skills, and extensive culinary knowledge.

Responsibilities of a Junior Sous-Chef at Don Alfonso Toronto:
•Supervise activities of other kitchen workers;
•Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff;
•May assist in the preparation and cooking of meals or specialty foods;
•May assist in the creation of new recipes;
•May assist in ensuring that the quality standard of food and service is based on the company culture and traditional Italian and Mediterranean cuisine
•Consult with executive chefs for feedback and improvement;
•May requisition food and kitchen supplies; and
•Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.

Skills and Qualifications of a Junior Sous-Chef at Don Alfonso Toronto:
•12+ years of experience in the hospitality industry;
•Post-secondary culinary education from an accredited educational institution;
•Knowledge and experience of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine;
•Excellent communication skills;
•Enthusiastic team player; and
•Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, flexible, patient, and organized. The ideal candidate must have exceptional and outstanding knowledge that is necessary to execute the highly detailed and complex recipes at Don Alfonso Toronto. The ideal candidate also has a genuine interest and passion for the culinary arts.

This is a full-time position with a fixed salary of $21.50/hour, non-inclusive of gratuities. The candidate must be available for emergency coverages on other shifts, as per the needs of the Restaurant.
