Job Position: Long Haul Truck Driver
Number of Vacancies: 4
Location of Work: Travel across Canada and USA with the base at 12963 112B Ave, Surrey BC
V3R 2H3
Term of employment: Full-time, Permanent with 40-50 hours per week.
Shifts: Weekdays, Weekends, Evenings
Salary: $27 per hour, overtime after 60 hours per week at the rate of 1.5 times.
Credentials: Class 1 or A driver's license with air brake endorsement.
Education: High School
Experience: No experience required. On-the-job training will be provided
Additional Skills:
. Basic English is required to understand road signs and fill out the logbook.
. Be able to work as individuals or in a team.
. Clean driving abstract
Duties:
. Drive and operate the company's long-haul trucks to transport goods and materials.
. Receive and Relay information to the central dispatcher.
. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections for any mechanical or body defect.
. Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods.
. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
. Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks.
. Communicate with dispatchers, other drivers, and customers using communication devices and onboard computers.
. Report incidents to the manager immediately and accurately.
